How can I display sports collectables in a closet?
by LeoD
Lisa asked:
My spare bedroom is running short on room and my husband has a ton of autographed sports items like mini-helmets, pitcures, footballs etc. I have covered every inch of the wall with all this framed sports photos yet I still lack room for the others. I don’t want to throw them in storage, so how can I display these items nicely in the closet?

Please show me some examples if possible. I’ve tried down sizing his collection but you just can’t seperate a man and his sports.
thanks!

Glass casing perhaps? If you find someone with an old glass pet container you could lay them out in that?

It depends on the shape of the closet. If it is a walk-in, there would be plenty of room for shelves on three sides. A wide shallow closet with sliding doors — remove the doors and shelve the back wall.. A squarish closet? Shelves on three sides and a glass-paned French door.

Remove and store the door to the closet.
Install custom shelving to accommodate the mementos.
Leave some wall space for more pictures.
Install some adequate lighting, perhaps track lighting, to show the treasures in a good light.
